About Kathmandu

Kathmandu is a New Zealand outdoor gear specialist, selling everything from heavy-duty puffers to lightweight camping equipment. The brand has a premium reputation, and their pricing strategy uses a high-low model where full retail prices often precede promotions. You can find savings through the Out There Rewards program, which unlocks member-only pricing and free delivery. Promo codes are typically sent as personalized reward vouchers for birthdays or level milestones. We suggest timing major purchases with seasonal clearance events, as you'll find discounts of 40% or more throughout the year.

Sells

Puffer jackets, rainwear, merino wool clothing, hiking boots, camping tents, sleeping bags, and specialized travel luggage.

Weekend hikers, families heading to holiday parks, and travelers who want sustainable, brand-name gear that transitions easily between the outdoors and the city.

Good to Know

Non-members may pay for shipping, while members get free delivery. Membership points are deducted if you return items, which can lower your loyalty level. You cannot partially redeem, exchange for cash, or use standard reward vouchers to buy gift cards. Loyalty vouchers are valid only in the country of issue, New Zealand.

How to Save at Kathmandu

Join the rewards programme for free shipping and member deals:Sign up for a free Out There Rewards account before you checkout. You will get free standard delivery and access to member pricing on Kathmandu branded gear.
Level up your membership for bigger birthday and annual vouchers:Points are tracked based on your spending over a rolling 12-month period. Reaching higher membership levels unlocks larger annual and birthday vouchers. You can also pick up extra points by completing your profile or taking surveys.
Grab a welcome offer when you first sign up:New subscribers to the Out There Rewards programme get a one-time welcome offer. This usually does not apply to gift cards, third-party brands, or clearance stock, and is limited to full-priced items.
Use Click and Collect to skip shipping delays:Choose pickup in store at checkout to secure your items. If your local store has the stock on hand, your order is usually ready within 4 hours.

Kathmandu Promo Code FAQs

Why is my Kathmandu promo code not working?

Kathmandu may reject a code when the order does not meet the promotion’s conditions. Check that:

The redemption period is still open.
You have not already used a one-use promotion.
Your eligible subtotal reaches any minimum spend.
You are signed in if the promotion requires Out There Rewards membership.
You received the promotion if it is limited to selected email recipients.
Your bag does not contain excluded products.
You are using kathmandu.co.nz if it is a New Zealand online offer.

For example, if the minimum spend is $120, an eligible subtotal of $119 will not qualify. Adding an excluded gift card will not necessarily raise the eligible subtotal above $120.

Can I use a Kathmandu promo code on sale or clearance gear?

It depends on the promotion. Kathmandu may limit a code to full-priced items, allow sale items but exclude outlet or clearance products, or replace the displayed sale price with a discount calculated from the regular price.

For example, suppose an item was regularly $200 and is on sale for $150. If the promotion takes 30% off the regular price and overrides the sale price, you pay $140, not $105.

Pro tip: Check whether the code replaces the current sale price rather than discounting it further.

Can I combine a Kathmandu promo code with member pricing or a reward voucher?

Usually not, because Kathmandu states that member offers and Out There Rewards vouchers cannot be used with another offer. Only one rewards voucher is allowed per transaction.

Why is my Out There Rewards voucher not showing at checkout?

Sign in to the Out There Rewards account that received the voucher and make sure your login email matches your membership email. If Kathmandu asks you to activate your online account, use the activation email it sends you.

Select the available voucher at checkout and check any minimum spend printed on it. New Zealand dollar vouchers can be used only through kathmandu.co.nz or at a New Zealand store.

Birthday vouchers remain available for 30 days after issue. Annual reward vouchers remain available for six months after issue.

Do Kathmandu members and new email subscribers get their own discounts?

Yes. First-time subscribers to Kathmandu’s Out There Rewards email database receive 10% off eligible full-priced items. The discount must be used online within seven days of the original email or SMS. It is limited to one use and excludes gift cards, third-party products and clearance.

For example, $200 of eligible full-priced Kathmandu gear falls to $180 before any delivery charge.

Out There Rewards members can also receive member pricing, targeted promotions, birthday vouchers and annual reward vouchers. Some targeted promotions require members to opt in to marketing and receive the relevant email.

Can I use a Kathmandu online promo code in a store?

Only if the individual promotion allows in-store use. Kathmandu’s standard promo code process is for online checkout, and many promotions are online only.

Out There Rewards birthday and annual reward vouchers can be used online or in a Kathmandu store within their country of issue. In a store, show the unique voucher details or ask a team member to check your membership for an available voucher.

Where can I find Kathmandu promo codes?

Start with Kathmandu promo codes verified by DontPayFull, then check Kathmandu’s emails and SMS messages, your Out There Rewards Online Account, its Offers and Member Deals pages, and its social adverts.

Kathmandu sometimes sends unique or targeted codes, so another person’s code may not be available to your account. Check each promotion’s eligible products, use limit, minimum spend and redemption channel before using it.

What happens to my promo code saving if I return the item?

Kathmandu calculates the refund from the reduced purchase price, not the item’s original price. If a jacket was $300 and you paid $240 after a promotion, Kathmandu uses $240 as the refund value.

For purchases made with an Out There Rewards voucher, Kathmandu allows an in-store exchange. If you use another return route, you forfeit the voucher value rather than receiving it back.
