Can I change the Uber Eats promo selected for my order?
Yes, but only before you tap Place order. Adding a code under Profile > Promotions does not necessarily select it for your current order.
Open View cart, scroll to Add promo, and select the offer you want. If Uber Eats automatically selected another offer, tap View details to change it. You can also select no promo to save an eligible offer for later.
Uber Eats does not apply codes retrospectively. If a completed order receipt is missing a promo that should have applied, open the order in Help and select My promotion code didn't apply to request a review.
For scheduled orders, the promo must remain valid on the scheduled order date. A promo that expires that day will not apply.
Pro tip: If an eligible promo expires before your scheduled order, place a normal order while it is still valid rather than relying on it for the later date.
What do Uber Eats promo code error messages mean?
Uber Eats may show these messages:

“Promo not applied, The promotion you picked couldn't be applied to your order.”
Check the offer's merchant, eligible items, location, minimum subtotal, expiry and account requirements.

“Oops, this promotion could not be claimed”
The offer was not added to your account. Try claiming it in the regular Uber app, then reopen Uber Eats. This may resolve the issue.

“Oops, you are not eligible for this promotion”
Your account or order does not meet the offer's audience conditions, such as being a first-time customer, an Uber One member or a directly targeted recipient.

“We couldn't activate this promo on your current device.”
Sign in to the Uber Eats website on a computer and add the code there. It may still fail if your account or basket is ineligible.

“Promotion codes are not available for this account and all trips will be charged at full price.”
The order will not receive a discount. Uber Eats may restrict promotions because of suspected misuse or an account issue. Contact support if you believe the restriction is an error.
Pro tip: Save a screenshot of the offer details and discounted total before ordering so you have a record of what Uber Eats displayed.
Why does Uber Eats say I am not eligible for a promo?
Your account or order may not match the promotion's eligibility rules. A code can be limited to:
- First-time Uber Eats customers
- Uber One members
- People who received a particular email or app notification
- A limited number of users who claim it first
- Particular New Zealand locations
- Participating restaurants or stores
- Particular products or categories
For an emailed offer, use the Uber account registered to the email address that received it. Ride promotions do not work on Uber Eats delivery or pickup orders.
Uber may also reject or reverse benefits linked to multiple accounts, self-referrals or other misuse. Creating another account is not a legitimate way to qualify for a first-order offer.
Do delivery fees count towards an Uber Eats promo minimum?
No. Your eligible item subtotal must meet the minimum before fees.
For example, with $10 off a $30 minimum order, a $29 item subtotal plus $6 in fees is still $1 short. Add a $1 eligible item and the subtotal becomes $30. Uber Eats subtracts $10 from the items, leaving $20, so the final total with the same $6 in fees is $26.
Percentage offers may also have a maximum saving, so check both the required subtotal and discount cap.
Pro tip: Add an eligible menu item to reach the minimum. Tips and customisations normally do not qualify.
Can I stack an Uber Eats promo code with restaurant deals or Uber credits?
You can use only one Uber Eats promo code per order, but Uber credits can be used with a code. Uber Eats may also apply a restaurant promotion automatically before selecting an account promo.
Offers generally cannot apply to already discounted items or combine with other promotions unless the specific offer permits it. The conditions displayed with your offer determine whether a restaurant deal and account promo can be used together.
